The Client
An international financial institution (retail and corporate bank) operating in a regulated environment, with an extensive reporting ecosystem and a data warehouse. The organization was running a program to modernize its data architecture toward a more scalable and automated model for both management and regulatory reporting.
The problem
Increasing reporting requirements (both internal and regulatory) and the development of analytical initiatives revealed competency gaps in data engineering and data modeling.
The key challenges
- an overloaded BI team maintaining a legacy data warehouse,
- lack of specialists experienced in designing modern data pipelines,
- limited ability to integrate new data sources (transactional systems, CRM, scoring systems),
- time pressure related to regulatory projects.
The internal HR department lacked experience in recruiting senior data specialists in the financial sector, where a combination of technical expertise and regulatory understanding is required.
The solution
As part of a recruitment service, we conducted a hiring process for two key roles:
- Senior Data Engineer
- Data Modeler / BI Architect
The scope of support included:
- refining competency profiles with consideration of the financial sector’s specific requirements,
- verifying candidates’ experience with large data volumes and regulated environments,
- supporting the client in negotiations and closing the hiring process.
The process was completed within nine weeks and resulted in the hiring of two experienced specialists from the financial sector.
The conclusions
- Reduced workload for the BI team and accelerated modernization of the data warehouse.
- Improved ETL processes and higher quality of reporting data.
- Shorter preparation time for regulatory reports.
- Establishment of sustainable in-house data capabilities aligned with audit requirements.
The client secured key technological resources supporting the transformation of its data architecture without the risk of a prolonged and ineffective recruitment process in a demanding financial market.
