The Client
An international logistics company (road transport and warehouse logistics). The organization was undergoing a transformation toward a data-driven model, with a growing number of operational reports and optimization initiatives.
The challenge
The company had large volumes of data from TMS, WMS, and ERP systems, but lacked the capabilities to use them effectively. Reporting was largely manual, and analyses were performed ad hoc by the IT department.
Key challenges included:
- lack of a consistent data model and clearly defined data ownership,
- limited quality and standardization of reports,
- lack of capabilities to build advanced analytics (forecasting, route profitability analysis),
- pressure from management to quickly improve margins and operational efficiency.
The client decided to hire two data specialists, but the internal HR department had no experience recruiting analytical and technical profiles.
The solution
As part of a recruitment service, we conducted a full hiring process for two key roles:
- Senior Data Analyst
- Data Engineer
The scope of our support included:
- refining competency profiles and defining responsibilities,
- market mapping and direct sourcing of candidates,
- supporting the client in the decision-making process and offer negotiations.
The process resulted in the hiring of two specialists within 10 weeks.
The conclusions
- Establishment of the foundation for an internal data team without an outsourcing model.
- Automation of key operational reports within the first three months of the team’s work.
- Implementation of the first customer and route profitability analyses supporting strategic decisions.
The client gained sustainable in-house data capabilities and real support for operational and financial decision-making.
