The Client
An international FMCG manufacturing company with several production plants across Europe and a central IT hub supporting global operations. The organization launched a program to migrate local systems (ERP, production planning systems, reporting) to the cloud in order to increase scalability and standardization.
The problem
The existing infrastructure was largely based on on-premises solutions managed locally at individual plants. The migration to the cloud required new architectural and operational capabilities that were not available within the current team.
The key challenges
- lack of experience in designing cloud architecture for production environments,
- limited knowledge of cloud security and governance practices,
- risk of downtime for systems critical to production operations,
- time pressure related to a global IT transformation program.
The client decided to build in-house cloud capabilities by hiring two key specialists.
The solution
Within a recruitment model, we conducted a hiring process for two roles:
- Cloud Architect
- Cloud Operations / DevOps Engineer
The scope of support included:
- refining responsibilities in the context of a production environment,
- verifying candidates’ experience in migration projects (rehosting, replatforming),
- supporting the client during the offer process and negotiations.
The process resulted in hiring two specialists with experience in infrastructure transformation within large industrial organizations.
The conclusions
- Establishment of a central cloud competency within the IT structure.
- Safe initiation of migration of production-critical systems.
- Standardization of cloud architecture and DevOps processes.
- Reduced dependency on external infrastructure providers.
The client built sustainable internal cloud capabilities supporting long-term technological and operational transformation.
