A European logistics operator (international transport and contract logistics) with a hybrid environment (data center + cloud), distributed branches, and external partner access to TMS/WMS systems.
The challenge
Following a security audit and increasing customer requirements regarding data protection, the company identified a competency gap in operational cybersecurity.
There was no dedicated cybersecurity specialist — responsibilities were distributed among infrastructure administrators. This resulted in:
- lack of continuous security event monitoring,
- delayed responses to vulnerabilities,
- absence of formal incident response procedures,
- increased operational risk in critical logistics systems.
At the same time, the organization was not ready to build a full security team or conduct a lengthy recruitment process.
The solution
Under an outsourcing model (staff augmentation), we provided an experienced Cybersecurity Specialist who worked as part of the client’s IT team.
The scope of responsibilities included:
- implementing and configuring centralized log monitoring (SIEM),
- conducting regular vulnerability reviews and coordinating the patch management process,
- developing and implementing an Incident Response Procedure (IRP),
- reviewing and organizing administrative access and permissions,
- supporting the preparation of documentation to meet ISO 27001 and NIS2 requirements.
The specialist worked both operationally and in an advisory role, while simultaneously establishing the foundations for further development of the security domain.
